The Perfect Bridesmaid

Being asked to be a bridesmaid is a great honor and a testament on how close you are to the bride. Here are a few helpful tips to make sure that you are the best bridesmaid you can be during your friend’s special day!

  1. Provide support to the bride by letting her know that you are available to help out if she needs it. (i.e. help her send out invitations, register for gifts or just offer to listen to her ideas)
  2. Traditionally the bridesmaids organize the bachelorette party and bridal shower which is a time for everyone involved to have fun. Make sure to be courteous of what kind of style the bride wants. A themed bachelorette party is entertaining and a great way to get people excited about the upcoming wedding.
  3. Smile and try to have a positive attitude, you are there to make things easier for the bride.
  4. Take tons of pictures not only during the wedding or the rehearsal dinner, but during the entire wedding process.
  5. Make sure to listen to what the bride wants since this day is about her. If there are any suggestions you want to make, feel free to offer them gently, but try not to make things difficult over something trivial.

Overall the best advice I can think of for any bridesmaid is to be a good friend. If you support the bride and are honest with her you are sure to make her wedding that much more amazing.

Its a Nice Day for a White Wedding!

A classy and timeless theme that works for any type of wedding is a white wedding theme. The color white is appropriate for any season or time of day. It is a theme that is universal, and while many brides may fear that it will constrict the originality of the wedding, it is simply not so. A white wedding theme can give your day a vintage feel or an incredibly chic look.

A great way to incorporate a new style into a white wedding theme is to add different textures. Try working with different shades of white (i.e. cream or ivory), or perhaps add in a dash of color to make something stand out.

The best part about the white wedding theme is the opportunity to make it completely your own. There are a million options to choose from, the sky is the limit!

Pixilated Photo Booth

A great way to capture the memories from your wedding is to order a photo booth! Pixilated is a company which provides hours of entertainment for wedding guests in order to celebrate your day and make it even more special. Two of Pixilated's packages are the Touch N’ Go and the Stay N’ Play, both of which come with four hours of fun and unlimited photos for your guests. An attendant is there to help guests take pictures and personalizes the experience by encouraging and directing those posing for pictures. The packages both have an USB option which allows pictures to effortlessly be transferred from the photo booth to a computer or any social media site. The major difference between the two package options is that the Touch N’ Go offers the opportunity to print pictures in color immediately. Guests can instantly save and share the memories made at your wedding. If you have any questions you can contact Patrick at patrick@getpixilated.com. The photo booth option combines photography with an activity that guests are bound to enjoy and never forget!

Rehearsal Dinner Etiquette

Tips for the Rehearsal Dinner:
  1. The rehearsal dinner is an opportunity for the bride and groom, in an intimate setting, to express their gratitude and appreciation to close family and friends.
  2. No matter how formal the wedding is, the rehearsal dinner can be as casual as a picnic or, more traditionally, at a nearby restaurant.
  3. The dinner should complement the wedding, make sure that it does not copy or overshadow it.
  4. People to invite: immediate families, the wedding party and the officiant. If there are out of town guests it is a good gesture to invite them as well.
  5. Traditions you may want to follow: Thank you gifts to the wedding party and other guests, toasts to set the mood of the dinner and lastly, make sure to have fun and enjoy the company of those closest to you!

You'll Want to Sit at the Dessert Table

Every bride wants their wedding to be fun and memorable for everyone.  With dessert table styling your wedding can appease every kind of sweet tooth while simultaneously adding a unique flair that is completely yours.

Staying within a design or color pattern can give a dessert table cohesion along with a very elegant look.

While still keeping the extravagant wedding cake, couples have added smaller sized desserts. Even though you do not want to overwhelm the guests with a million choices, a dessert table can be used to set your wedding apart from others by continuing a theme or presenting desserts in a new way.

One way to personalize a dessert table is to incorporate a childhood favorite dessert or perhaps something from your ethnic background. If the couple has ever traveled together a dessert from that region may be a great way to commemorate the trip while allowing your guests to partake in the experience. Dessert table styling is a way to tell a story while adding a scrumptious and stylish aspect to your wedding!
